We’re not slacking
It’s been a while since we made a blog update and we have had some inquiries on whether development of the site has come to a pause. So here we are writing this post to dispel that notion.
We’re currently busy building a faster version of the site. Current benchmarks indicate the new page loading time as 10x faster than the current site. We know the speed issue is a major bugbear of many users. Hence, the urgency in fixing this issue first.
One factor that might upset some users is the breakage of the current links. Because we’re building the new site on an entirely new framework, your current portfolio urls may no longer be valid. Inconveniences include the need to update your widget code.
We do apologize for any inconvenience caused. Hopefully, the new speed bump would compensate for the minor inconveniences.
Please do not spam your portfolio
We have been receiving complaints that some of our users have been spamming their portfolio links in forums. While we encourage users to have a link to their portfolio in their forum signature, we do not tolerate spamming to increase viewership of their portfolios. Any offenders and his/her portfolios would be banned, effective immediately.
Update: If this problem persists, we will remove the “Most Viewed” section for Portfolios. Visitors can inform us of any offenders at nospam [at] stockalicious [dot] com.
Link to us
We encourage you to freely link to our homepage or content published on this site. You do not need to ask permission to link to content.

RSS is here!
We know this is a little late but hey, better late than never.
Some of our users are bloggers with a wide readership and so we thought, wouldn’t it be nice if their readers can be notified every time our user made a buy/sell transaction?
Hence, the rationale for portfolio transactions RSS feeds.
Eg. if you wish to be notified whenever we make a buy/sell transaction, just subscribe to our portfolio transactions RSS feed by clicking on the orange RSS icon. See picture below:
So what are you waiting for? Try it!
Keeping Stockalicious Free
Howdy Stockalicians. It’s your friendly neighborhood dictator here.
When we started Stockalicious, it was purely out of our own selfish need that we created it. Gradually along the way do we decide to release it to the public after our friends started bugging us to allow them to use it.
Now that we are about 5 months old, we are at a turning point where we have to decide how to make this site self-sustainable. Internally, we have debated as to convert this to a freemium model or an entirely free ad-supported model. After weeks of discussion, we are glad to inform you that we have to decided on the latter. YES. IT’S FREE!!!
However, to make this work, we need the help of everyone of you. Do spam spread the word about this site to your friends so that we have enough ad revenue to buy more servers so as to make this site run m. schumacher f. alonso fast.
We know about the complaints of the slow loading time. We hear you. We really do.
Our internal target is to reduce the average page loading time to 0.00000000000000000000001 seconds. Our quick calculations estimate that each one of you have to tell 10000000000 friends in order to achieve this goal.
Yes. We know it’s ambitious (or downright retarded). But hey, if that’s what it takes to provide for a better user experience for our beloved Stockalicians, we’ll gladly be the fools of the day.
A cure for those slow trading days
Try not to get addicted
Specially for active traders
We have had plenty of requests from active traders for a trading journal feature - one that would allow them to set stop-loss prices and evaluate the risk and performance of each individual trade. Well, without further ado, this feature is now live on our site.
To use this trading journal feature, you just need to make one change - Instead of adding your portfolio transactions via Transactions, you do it via Trades.
The trading journal is just a different interface for you to add your portfolio transactions. These trades will also be visible under Transactions, although you can’t edit them from there (You have to edit them via Trades).
Here are our demo trades: http://www.stockalicious.com/stock_journal/483/trades
Notice how these trades are also visible under Transactions.

Stockalicious has become bookalicious
You might notice a new addition to our website - the Books section.
As many of you would agree, traders/investors are voracious readers. Thus, when it comes to choosing the best/worst trading/investment books, you guys/ladies are authorities in this field. So why not write a review on some of the best/worst books you have read and share your nuggets of knowledge with your fellow Stockalicians?
We do not have a huge library of book titles at this moment. If you can’t find the book that you are trying to review with our Search function, you can add the book to our database here.
Has the real estate bubble burst?
Wow. Just wow.
Casey Serin: I’m a 24 yr old “would-be real estate mogul” from Sacramento CA. After going to a few seminars I bought 8 houses in 8 months in 4 states with no money down looking to fix ‘n flip. I made some mistakes and am now millions in debt, trying to avoid foreclosure, sell quickly, repay everyone, and share my lessons to help others in trouble. Comments welcome!
